    Chapter #2

It was a Saturday morning, the first day of my semester break. I had no plans whatsoever.

    My phone rang.

“What are you doing?” SueAnn’s cute melodic voice asked when I accepted the call.

“Taming my morning wood,” I answered.

“Tsk, well faster get it over with, I got a proposition for you.”

“Uh huh. I heard that before. I thought you were going home?”

“Not anymore. My parents dumped me.”

    “About time.”

    “Idiot. They went to Thailand.”

    “To adopt a new daughter?”

“Fucker. Blow your wad and get your lame ass to Starbucks. Hurry the fuck up.”

    She ended the call.

Oh well, at least I won’t be lonely this holiday. I too was not going back to my hometown. It’s only been about half a year since I started college and I’m in no hurry to relinquish my newfound freedom. I hopped in the shower and pampered a big sticky load out of my stiff, soapy cock. It didn’t take long, especially with SueAnn in mind.

SueAnn and I were from the same town. In fact, she and another friend, Ethan, were my best friends throughout secondary school. Like Ethan and I, she was 18 years old. After we graduated from secondary school, we chose to attend the same college in this town. SueAnn was a very pretty girl with alluring bubble curves, long swept back hair, and an uppity attitude. I’ve had my eye on her since her body started developing in secondary school. She had the most incredible, shapely ass among all the girls I had ever seen. She maintained an athletic physique with a B-cup chest. I knew because I asked.

I slipped on a pair of cargo shorts and a tank top and was soon on my way to the Starbucks on campus. SueAnn was sitting legs crossed on a couch in the corner sitting area, eagerly swiping on her phone. She was wearing tight jeans and a deep blue spaghetti strap top. A plate of half eaten pastry and a Grande cup of coffee sat on the coffee table before her.

I walked up to her, bent over to pick up her coffee, and plopped myself down on the opposite couch. Slowly, I took a sip.

    “Bleh! Bitter!”

“I’m watching my calories,” SueAnn replied demurely without looking up.

I put the coffee down and proceeded to save my friend from the leftover calories on her plate.

    “Pig la you,” she said.

“Shorrwy,” I mumbled with a mouth full of crusty goodness. “Didn’t have dinner last night.”

“You really suck in taking care of yourself.”

“I can see why your parents are shopping for a new daughter.”

“Ya, well, that’s only because your parents begged me to replace you and I agreed.”

“Lol. My sisters must be soooo happy.” I replied. I tried another sip of bitter coffee, grimaced, and put it back. “So what’s up?”

“This!” SueAnn replied, holding her phone out to me.

    Chapter #3

“This!” SueAnn replied, holding her phone out to me.

I took it and glanced at the screen. It was a page on Agoda.com travel website with some sort of promotional ad. I browsed the details.

“You want to go to Penang?” I asked.

“Yep. Last time I was there, I think I was six.”

“And you’re absolutely sure the people of Penang has gotten over their horror?”

I dodged a flying coffee stirrer.

“Come on, it’s not like you have any other plans,” SueAnn said.

“How do you know? Maybe I do.”

“Uhuh, sure. Jacking off in your room does not count as ‘plans’,” she said.

“But jacking it in a hotel room overlooking a beach does?”

    “Absolutely.”

I glanced down at her phone again. The package was pretty cheap. A modest suite with breakfast for two for a week. My gaze shifted to the list of amenities and stopped at the phrase “1 king-sized bed.”

I grinned at her. “I dunno,” I said coyly. “Sounds kind of intimate…”

    Chapter #4

SueAnn smiled back sweetly. “I know right? So what do you say?”

I shrugged. “Well what does your boyfriend say?”

“He left his girlfriend stranded to go on a tour in Australia with his family. He has no say.”

Sigh, yes. I forgot to mention SueAnn was attached. Met Gerald during orientation earlier this year. A month later they were necking between the W and XYZ social science aisle in the library. A week after that, she lost her virginity in his BMW X6. I know because I asked.

“Let me sweeten the deal,” she said after a pause.

“Okay, but first, I’m going to sweeten this coffee,” I quipped.

I slipped her her phone back and went to fetch a few sugar packets. When I got back, she was draining the cup dry.

“Bitch,” I said. I proceeded to tear open one of the packets and poured the contents into my mouth.

“Pig,” she replied and stuck out her tongue at me.

“Let me hear this sweet sweet deal of yours,” I said.

She smiled. “You get to go on this trip for free.”

“Now that really is a sweet deal,” I replied. The phrase 1 king-sized bed flashed in my head again.

“You going to take it or what?”

“Okay, deal. But if Gerald starts any shit about this I’m putting him down.”

SueAnn looks at me, amused. After a moment we both laughed. I was pretty moderately built. Played basketball intensively when I was in secondary school but since I came to college I only went out for a jog - whenever I felt like it - which was not often at all. Gerald on the other hand clearly works out. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a personal trainer.

“Awesome,” SueAnn said. Her face lit up and she waved to someone behind me.

I turned to look and saw my other best friend Ethan shuffling up to us. “Hey whats up guys,” he said, taking a seat.

“Yo,” I replied. “I thought you were going back?”

“Haha, no lah, change of plans,” Ethan said, giving SueAnn a shy look.

“Good news Ethan,” SueAnn interrupted, flashing me a mischievous smile. “Mike is coming with us to Penang.”

    Chapter #5

It is hard to describe the look on Ethan’s face then. It looked like the face of someone watching the the world crumble before him. “Oh really?” He said. “Nice…”

If he had sounded any more dispirited, I would have gotten him a puppy to hug and a hooker to suck his dick while he was at it.

“I know right?” SueAnn gushed. It’ll be just the three of us, just like old times.

    “Awesome,” said Ethan weakly.

At that moment, the pieces fell in place. But before that, perhaps a little history is in order. As you might have deduced, there is amazing chemistry between me and SueAnn, yet I had never made a serious move on her. Well it stems back to the time when we were 16 and in secondary school. Back then, Ethan confessed to me that he had an enormous crush on SueAnn. I really liked her back then but it was more of a sibling affection. So, like the big hearted guy that I am, I refrained from developing some serious feelings for SueAnn. I really expected Ethan to pair up with SueAnn but for some reason, nothing came out of it.

If you think that was bad for Ethan, you should see how he was when Gerald came along and swept SueAnn off her feet. I had to constantly drag him out of his room just so that he could get some sunlight once in awhile. It got so bad that he preferred to study in his room rather than attend classes. I had to sign his attendance form for a couple of months while he ferments in sorrow and self pity on his own. Ah, first love is a bitch.

Thank God he never knew the sordid details of SueAnn’s love life. I on the other hand try to squeeze her for every drop of insight into her dirty deeds every chance I got. I think it’s hot.

Anyway, Ethan soon recovered from his depression, thank God for that. In fact he seemed to bounce back better than ever. I never suspected that he was still holding a torch for our best friend.

    Until now that is.

SueAnn stood up and stretched. “Now that that’s over with, let’s go shopping.”

    “Shopping?” I asked.

She smiled prettily “I need a new bikini.”

    Chapter #6

We took a taxi to the nearest mall. After having lunch together, SueAnn got distracted by shoes a few times, but eventually we made it to a sportswear store.

“Soooo,” I said in a low voice, keeping an eye on Ethan up ahead who was checking out some jerseys. “Why do I get the feeling that I’m being hired as a third wheel here?”

SueAnn hung the swimsuit she was checking out back on the rack. “Cos that’s how we roll brudder. We a tricycle.”

    I looked at her lamely.

SueAnn brushed her hair back and sighed. “Can I ask you a question Mike?”

“Kinda rude cos you haven’t answered mine, but go ahead.”

“Does Ethan have feelings for me?”

“Have you and Gerald done it in the ass?”

    SueAnn glared at me.

“We can keep asking each other questions until one of us decides to start giving answers. I can do this all holiday,” I said.

    “Asshole.”

    “Yes, he tapped that yet?”

She sighed again. “Fine, okay. I lead you on.”

“You mean you deviously trapped me in your machinations.”

“I had no choice okay. When Ethan heard I wasn’t going back, he immediately cancelled his flight too.”

    “Awwww.”

“Weird right? Then out of the blue, he suggested we both go off on a trip somewhere.”

“So he just wants to hang out. You’ve been unavailable lately, what between classes and quickies in the library with Gerald…”

SueAnn couldn’t help but crack a smile. “Stop it,” she said.

    “In the restrooms?”

    “I said stop it.”

    “Male restroom?”

    Her smile got bigger.

    “Lecture hall?” I asked.

“Oh my God. Lecture hall? What the fuck Mike?”

“So that’s where you draw the line huh?”

“You should totally learn to draw more lines. And stop changing the subject.” She glanced over at Ethan. “Answer my question.”

“I know you’re an airhead sometimes, but you can’t be that dumb.”

“Oh God. I mean, I suspected it of course, but, gosh I dunno…” She picked another swimsuit from the rack and nervously fondled it. “How long?”

“Since you were a full cup smaller.”

She smacked the swimsuit in my face.

“Seriously though,” I mumbled as I peeled the skimpy fabric off my head, “Is it really that bad? What does Gerald have that Ethan doesn’t?”

SueAnn looked straight at me. I could almost see the gears grinding behind her pretty eyes.

“Holy shit, you’re really going to compare them?” I asked.

“It’s what I do. When in a dilemma, I make a list of pros and cons. It helps calm me down,” She replied. She flicked her thumb. “Money,” she said.

“Actually, you mean daddy’s money. Ethan’s daddy has loads of money. Looooooads.”

She smiled and flicked her index finger. “Looks.”

“You know what they say. Beauty fades.”

“Yeah? That must be why it’s so goddamn precious.”

“Ethan has looks,” I said defensively, quickly glancing at my friend who had moved on to the footwear section. “He’s not Gerald, but, hey, he’s cute. Kinda. Sorta. If you can ignore the hairdo.”

SueAnn chuckled. She looked at me like she was challenging me and extended another finger. “Excitement.”

    Oh boy.

“Starcraft can be pretty exciting once you get the hang of it,” I replied lamely. “And what about this trip huh? At least you know he is spontaneous.”

She rolled her eyes and flipped another finger. “A good fuck.”

“This one time, Ethan borrowed a porn DVD from me. I never saw it again.”

SueAnn burst out in giggles. When she finally pulled herself together, she had a softer look in her eyes. “Love,” she whispered as she slowly extended her pinky.

Fuck me sideways, I was stumped. SueAnn’s smile grew wider.

“Does Gerald love you?” I blurted.

    Her smile evaporated.

    “Do you… I mean… You know…”

“I think I’ll take this one,” SueAnn suddenly announced, snatching a bright orange and white bikini outfit from the rack. She then scooted straight for the cashier.

“Ah, shit…” I said to myself.

    Chapter #7

We were set to depart the day after tomorrow. The next day, we met up for lunch at the food court where SueAnn sprang another surprise on us.

“Guys, this is Amanda,” SueAnn said, gesturing at a strikingly beautiful girl that had arrived beside her.

Amanda stood at SueAnn’s height. She wore a casual floral dress which showcased her long shapely legs and wore her long hair down as apposed to SueAnn who wore hers in a ponytail that day. Amanda’s hair was dyed a dark reddish brown which suited her really well. She was built slightly slimmer than SueAnn, but spotted a larger chest, probably C-cup. Unfortunately, her dress didn’t offer much of a cleavage for view.

After introductions were made, SueAnn announced, “Guys, I invited Amanda to join us on our trip tomorrow. She would really like to come. I hope it’s okay.”

I gave SueAnn an odd look.

“Yeah sure, the more the merrier,” Ethan said. Surprisingly, he sounded even more sincere than when he said I could come along. Unless… Maybe he was hoping Amanda would distract me and he would have his chance with SueAnn. Well played buddy, I like how you think. I stole another glance at Amanda. Gosh, she was really good looking. I should ask SueAnn to introduce me to her friends more often.

We went our ways in the food court to place our orders. I quickly tailed SueAnn to the Korean food stall.

“Okay what are you playing at?” I asked her as we picked up our trays together.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she said smugly.

“Oh no you don’t. You’re trying to play matchmaker aren’t you?”

“I’m just looking out for a friend who would otherwise be left bored to death this holiday.”

“Uh huh. Sure you are. Say, is your friend by any chance, single?”

“Why yes,” SueAnn replied with a devilish smirk. “Is there a law that says single people can’t have fun?”

She turned away for a moment to place her order before continuing, “If romance happens to blossom along the way, then so be it. Besides, somebody has to share my king-sized bed.”

“Great… I was wondering about the sleeping arrangements. Anyway there is a major flaw in your plan.”

    “Oh really?”

“Yes. You see, I also happen to be single.”

I paused for a moment to let my meaning sink in. SueAnn narrowed her eyes at me.

“Very single.” I added to emphasize my point.

“Don’t you fucking dare,” she said.

“I’ll tell you what, I’m just going to have some fun, and if romance blossoms along the way then so be it.”

“I’ll kick you off the trip…”

    “Whoa, that’s cheating.”

She smiled. “Seriously though, you better not fuck this up. Those two are perfect for each other.”

“Riiight. And you know this, how?”

“I’ve known Amanda since the beginning of the year. Trust me, they are so alike.”

“I think you have it backwards. It’s opposites that attract.”

    “That’s just a myth idiot.”

The stall attendant placed a sizzling meal onto SueAnn’s tray. It occurred to me that while we were talking all this time, I haven’t even made an order. I don’t even like Korean food. Then the store attendant leaned forwards and placed what looked like a bubbly red stew of innards in front of me with a bowl of rice.

“Oh, I hope you don’t mind but I ordered for you,” SueAnn added as she paid for her meal and picked up her tray.

“What the fuck is this shit?” I asked, much to the aghast of the stall attendant.

“Trust me, you don’t want to know,” she replied cheekily and walked off.

    Chapter #8

The next day, I shouldered my hiking backpack stuffed with everything I figured I would need, mostly clothes, and set out to meet Ethan at the ground floor of our condo. SueAnn lived in a completely different area and she had told us yesterday that the girls would charter their own taxi to the airport.

My suspicions about Ethan’s intentions were confirmed when all he would talk about throughout the trip to the airport was Amanda. He was trying real hard to sell her to me.

Ethan was like, “Did you know Amanda watched Star Wars?”

    “No shit?”

“Yeah dude. She’s really into it. We had a long talk about it yesterday. I’ve never had such a great conversation about Star Wars before with anyone else except you. You should try talking to her sometime.”

For the record, I’m not exactly a Star Wars fan. And if you didn’t guess by now, it’s Ethan who is the huge sci-fi dork. I just know how to carry on a conversation. I am a huge Pottard though. You know who else is a major Pottard? SueAnn.

Speaking of the bitch, she was not done with the surprises. We arrived at the departure hall to find not two, but three girls waiting for us.

“Guys, this is Natalie,” SueAnn gushed.

    Oh no she didn’t.

I know Natalie. She is in several of my classes. We exchanged friendly nods. Then SueAnn and I traded fake smiles and suspicious glares.

Natalie was every bit the girl next door type. She radiates innocence and is very friendly and outgoing. Pretty enough to turn heads, she, like SueAnn, sported an athletic body with nubile curves. She had medium long dark hair which she wore in a braided bun. The girls were all in shorts, T-shirts, and sneakers.

“What are you up to?” I hissed to Sue Ann the first chance I got.

“A good girl always brings backup,” she said.

“You’re definitely not a good girl. This is about what I said isn’t it? That opposites attract thing?”

“Tsk, not everything is about you darling. And don’t be an idiot. I told you that’s a myth. Try thinking logically. Now there are two single boys and two single girls.”

    “And one deviously manipulative bitch.”

She pouted at me. “Is that what I get for thinking about other people’s happiness?”

I grinned at her. “You think I can’t handle two girls at once?”

She smiled back. “Like I said, not everything is about you. I’m betting Ethan won’t be able to handle two girls at once. He’s got to let one of them in.” She took a step closer and poked me on my chest. “As for you…” She said. “I’ll handle you.”

Well, game on I guess. Truth is, I’ve got and eye on Natalie for quite a while now. She seems like great girlfriend material. But now there is also the lovely Amanda to consider.

We checked in and moved on past the security screening to the waiting area where we sat in a row. Ethan on one end, then SueAnn, Natalie, me, and finally Amanda. SueAnn immediately started a conversation which sucked Natalie and Ethan in. She’s so much like the mythological siren, that girl.

“Mike right? Or Michael?” Amanda asked me, trying to start a conversation.

“Truth be told, I prefer Michael, but Mike seems to stick better,” I replied with a smile.

“Oh, sure, I’ll call you Michael then.”

“It would be very refreshing. So, tell me, how did a nice girl like you end up with no plans for this break?”

Amanda giggled. “I do have plans. Or should I say ‘had.’ I’m sure you know, SueAnn can be very convincing.”

    “You mean bossy.”

“Haha. Maybe a little. I actually had a job lined up for this holiday but I postponed it for a week. SueAnn convinced me that I need to let loose a little.”

“You might want to check with her on her definition of ’let loose.’ It’s not for the faint of heart.”

Amanda smiled. “Don’t worry. I am not faint of heart either.”

We chatted for some time, mainly to get to know each other better. For the record, we did not talk about Star Wars. Oh, and SueAnn was staring daggers at me the whole time.

About 10 minutes later, I excused myself to the restroom. When I came out, Amanda, SueAnn, and Ethan were huddled together, watching something on Ethan’s phone. That girl is tireless in her endeavor to get Ethan paired up.

I took the chance to wander the shops in the area. When I passed the bookstore, I chanced on Natalie perusing the bestseller shelf.

“Hey Nat. Whatchoo looking at?” I asked.

She turned to me with that bright smile of hers. “Hey Mike. Nothing in particular. I was just browsing.”

Since we were already friends, we quickly caught up with each other. Like I said, I’ve had my eye on her for some time. This trip could be perfect for me to make a move.

“Oh Mike, which reminds me, could I ask you something?” Natalie asked before i can line up some flirty lines.

    “Huh? Sure, go ahead.”

She suddenly looked nervous. “I erm… It’s about Ryan.”

    “Ryan?” I asked. “Ryan who?”

“Uh, Ryan Chua. You know. Tall guy.”

“Tall guy named Ryan. Doesn’t ring any bells.”

Natalie sighed and folded her arms. She gave me an impatient look. “He’s in most of our classes for god-sakes.”

    “Errr…”

    She sighed heavily again. “Crocs…”

“Ohhhhhhhh. Wait, his name is Ryan?”

    “Yes…”

“Oh okay. Ryan is Crocs-boy. Got it. So whats up?”

Natalie gave me a stern disapproving look. Holy shit. Not many girls can pull off a sexy-angry look. Okay, SueAnn can kinda do it, but Natalie takes the cake for this one.

“That’s the problem. Could you please stop making fun of his shoes?” She asked.

    “Those are not shoes.”

“Fine, stop making fun of his slippers.”

“Err, those aren’t slippers either. They’re very old Swiss cheese, toughened by preservatives, that someone accidentally stepped into.”

She softly face-palmed herself, but I caught a smile under there. “You’re terrible. He doesn’t even wear them anymore.”

“Look, I know this seems bad, but it’s not just me. Everyone makes fun of his crocs.”

“He seems to think you’re the ringleader.”

“What?! Okay, maybe I’m the most vocal of the lot, but I…”

    “Yes?”

I sighed. “Alright I’m sorry. Look, when classes start again, I’ll apologize to him personally.”

Natalie looked very surprised at this. “That’s… Very mature of you.”

“Yeah, well. I didn’t know he was taking it this badly. Most of the time we meant it as a good-natured joke you know? I’m sorry.”

    “It’s… Erm. It’s okay.”

“I’m curious. Why are you sticking up for him so much? Is he your cousin or something?”

    Natalie blinked. “He’s my boyfriend.”

“I’m sorry, I thought I heard you say that he is your boyfriend.”

    “He is.”

“As in a friend that is a boy?”

“As in we are dating… Sort off.”

    “So a sort-off boy-friend?”

“We just haven’t made it official okay?”

    “Wow.”

“What wow? Is that so surprising?”

“It’s just that no one had any idea.”

Natalie sighed. “Yeah, it’s partly my fault. My family’s kind of conservative. They’d freak out if they knew. I had been trying to keep it low profile. Even Ryan gets annoyed that no one else knows.”

    “Wow.”

    “Can you stop saying wow?”

    “Bowowow.”

She giggled and smacked me on the arm. “Cut it out.”

    “You and Ryan huh?”

“You make it sound like I’m in a relationship with an alien.”

“That’s actually not that far off.”

    “You’re terrible. He’s a really nice guy.”

I sighed. “Yeah you’re right. I’m gonna start hanging out with him more often.”

“You’re a really nice guy too.”

“So the only difference between us is the Crocs? Wait… Do you like Crocs?”

Natalie laughed and playfully punched me on the shoulder. “Who do you think convinced him to dump them huh?”

“Well… You two are having fun.” a familiar voice said.

We turned around to find SueAnn behind us. Just then, the speakers blared the boarding announcement. We all made our way back to the group to line up for boarding. SueAnn hung back to line up beside me, out of earshot of the others.

“You sneaky fucker,” she said. “I can’t turn my back on you for one second.”

I didn’t answer but had an irresistible grin plastered all over my face.

    “What’s so funny?” She asked.

    “I know a secret that yuuu don’t,” I replied.

SueAnn narrowed her eyes at me. “It’s probably nonsense.”

    “If you say so.”

“You’re always so full of shit.”

    “Only most of the time.”

“Whatever it is, you can just shove it up your ass.”

“Okay, but I tend to completely forget about what I put in there.”

“Arrgh! Tell me!” SueAnn hissed and twisted my nipple. Hard.

    “Ow! What the fuck?”

“It’s something to do with Natalie isn’t it?”

“Maybe… But I’ll never tell,” I replied cheekily while stepping ahead of her. I gotta get my nipples to safety.

    Chapter #9

The seat layout in the plane was standard for a 747.

As this trip was initially for Ethan and SueAnn, they sat together somewhere up front in the business section. Amanda and Natalie were seated separately somewhere in the middle of the economy section and I got a seat near the back. SueAnn might be paying for my trip but she didn’t promise perks.

As I made my way through the cabin, I spied Natalie and Amanda. Natalie had a window seat and beside her was a couple with a young toddler. I would have pitied her if she wasn’t smiling kindly and cooing at the child. Amanda had the aisle seat in the row behind Natalie. Beside her were two well-dressed foreigners. Already, Amanda was conversing eloquently with the gentleman beside her.

I finally made it to my row somewhere in the back. Two fat guys stared up at me innocently. One had the aisle seat and the other sat by the window (which was my seat), leaving the middle seat vacant. I stowed my backpack and engaged in a staring contest with the fat guy in my seat.

    Several awkward moments passed.

“Do you mind?” The seat stealer finally croaked.

    “Actually, I do.” I replied.

The fat men exchanged glances. Clearly, this was a path they did not go down often. I’d bet one inch of my penis length that most people would have just suffered them throughout the flight.

“I can’t sit with my son, we’re too big,” the man in the aisle seat said flapping his blob like arms and smiling stupidly.

He wasn’t kidding. They even had both the armrests of the middle seat pushed back up so that their flabby girth could comfortably spill over.

“I sympathize, really,” I said in the gentlest voice I could muster. “Perhaps you could make a request to the cabin crew to stow your son in the luggage compartment for the duration of the flight.”

The pudgy duo gaped at me in shock.

“Y-y-you can’t talk to us that way. We have a condition!” The father said.

“No kidding. It’s called your mouth. Do yourself a favor and avoid putting anything in it for the duration of the flight.

“Is there a problem sir?” The air stewardess asked from behind me.

“Yeah, I didn’t ask for extra pillows,” I said, pointing at the father and son.

“Er, well the rows behind them onwards are vacant sir, would you like to have a seat there instead?”

“That would be nice. Could you tell the captain to inform all passengers that in the event of an emergency water landing, there are two extra flotation devices here at the back of the plane?”

    “I, er…”

    “Thanks.”

Full disclosure, I can be a huge dick sometimes. Hence the situation with Natalie’s boyfriend. What’s his name again?

    Chapter #10

The cabin crew scampered up and down the aisle performing their last minute checks. I was sitting by the window, resisting the urge to kick the back of the seat in front of me just to annoy the fat slob sitting there who had stolen my seat.

    “Having fun back here?”

I glanced over at the aisle. It was SueAnn.

“It’s not business class, but hey,” I replied. “It’s free.”

She smiled and entered the row, plopping herself down beside me.

“If you’re going to waste your first class seat up front, I’ll go ahead and take it,” I said.

“You’re going nowhere,” she countered, leaning in against me. She smelled wonderful. “I gave my seat up to an elderly lady.”

“Wow. She must think you’re such an Angel. What does Ethan say?”

“It’s my seat, he has no say,” SueAnn replied.

She was snuggling against me now. Her hand snaked across my chest and laid claim to my right breast. Overhead, the captain’s voice droned on, giving us our due welcome.

“So this secret,” SueAnn said. “It doesn’t affect my plans in any way does it?”

    “Of course not.”

“Liar,” she whispered. Her fingers started to circle my nipple over my T-shirt. God it tickles.

“Are you really going to torture me for a teeny tiny secret for the entire duration of the flight?”

    “I could…”

I sighed. “Why are you doing this really?”

“I hate secrets that’s not mine.”

“No, I mean why are you going through this length to get Ethan laid?”

She stopped teasing my breast. The mischievous glint in her eyes lifted. “I want Ethan to be happy.”

    “He’ll be happy with you.”

    “No he won’t.”

    “How do you know?”

“Because he doesn’t know the half of me.”

    “He could learn.”

“You honestly think he could bear to know the real me?”

I thought about Ethan’s recent bout with depression. I shrugged. “Who ever really knows a person anyway? Secrets and lies are what makes us uniquely human. Ignorance is bliss.”

“So that’s it? I’m suppose to keep him ignorant his whole life? I’m not his mother Mike. I’m not going to coddle him.”

“Seriously?” I said. “Look at what you’re doing. You’re choosing his girlfriends for him. In a way, you’re already coddling him. I don’t understand you. Just sit him down and tell him your feelings. He’ll understand.”

    “I can’t.”

    I sighed. “Or you won’t.”

I glanced at her. She had a faraway look in her glassy eyes. Then it hit me. It hit me like a ton of bricks on a speeding train hurtling towards earth on an asteroid the size of Everest.

“Oh fuck me,” I gasped. “You DO love him.”
