3 months later, Cammy and I were still jobless. It wasn’t that we didn’t try to find a job. We sent out tens of CVs everyday but the interviews were less than 1%. Meanwhile Cammy’s dad pressuring us and we had bills to pay. That’s why Cammy brought up a suggestion to me.

As the volume was substantial and it would help to cement their profit margins, she subtlety instigated Edwin to handle the discussion on his own. He didn’t suspect any issue and after 2 weeks of discussion, he signed on the purchasing document.
A month later, the authorities went to their office. It was then that they found out that the supplier was from a sanctioned country. Since Edwin was the person spearheading the deal and was the signatory, he arrested. Cammy was also arrested as she was part owner of the company. However, she told him that she felt bad that she had gotten him into trouble and to make up for it, she told him that once everything was settled, she would leave me and marry him. He was convinced and took the rap for her.
A few months later, he was charged in court and was given a jail term. Before he into prison, she made him gave her another 45% of his shares of the company. She cited that the company was now in the news in a bad way and in order to convince their customer that everything was still business as usual, he needed to reduce his stakes first so that she could show them that everything was fine. Since he had taken pains to set up the company, he didn’t want it to go under and agreed to her request. He transferred his shares to her and she would take total control of the company.
When he was in jail, our relationship went back to normal and she was back to her doting self. I thought that everything was over but she told me that it wasn’t. She reminded me that there was still the 2nd part that would take place; which was after he had been released from jail. She convinced me not to worry and she already had plans for it when it happened.
Almost a year later, when Edwin was released, the company had grown substantially. He wanted to return to the company but she refused to allow him to. He had 10% of ownership left and no longer had control of the company. She offered him a director job with salary and profit sharing but he refused. He also wanted to rekindle their relationship and she didn’t want to.
He wasn’t too happy about the situation but there was nothing much he could do. After about a month of discussion, she agreed to buy his shares at a million dollars. He agreed, sold them to her and walked away. He stopped contacting her after that.
About 4 months later, when she confirmed that Edwin was no longer bothering her, she gave 50% of the shares of the company to me and I joined her company. While working in the company, I found out that there was a major prospect who had been showing interest in her. I knew that if we get the deal from this old man, our company would make its name in the industry and bigger players could offer to buy us out.
I brought this up to Cammy and after some convincing, she finally agreed to let me invite this prospect to our house for drinks.
