Let me share what I saw…
My ex colleague was one of the head of a Singapore based company and was not happy with the quality of services provided by the Vietnam counterpart.
Being Singaporean, he expect everything to be chop chop, fast fast, cheap, cheap.
He fail to know that different countries got different ways of working. We try to talk to him and tell him to give some bribery money as that’s how Vietnam’s business run with government services at that time to get things done fast.
He is too naive and thinks every country is like Singapore…he think it is process issue and think that the vietnam people are lazy and not efficient and productive and start to fire people in the Vietnam office.
One day got big issue and he was asked down to fly down to Vietnam to sort out a problem he created.
That was the big mistake. I came along but the whole thing was a trap. We flew down. A car came to pick up us but instead of going to the company, the driver drove to a remote place. When we step out of the car, the person he fired took out a gun was pointed at his head and tell him that he has gone too far. He was warned never to return to Vietnam. I kept quiet and witness the whole thing.
Since then, no one want to talk about this issue, no police report. The problem was resolve with some bribery money and reinstate of some people in the company. Not long after, he resigned. He is better off in some Singapore govt agency where is more suitable for this type of people.
So, dont play play with Vietnamese.
Wow, what an experience. I ask Ngoc about this, she said nowadays much better than when she was younger. I don’t think Thao will do this to me. I am no matter what her step dad. Your friend must be very lucky to arrive home alive.
Btw Mai’s student pass has been approved, she will come over at the end of the month. To me is good and bad, bad because me and Ngoc can no longer dress in our birthday suit at home. Good, because she will make the home more lively.
