It’s pretty typical for people to peep into each other’s door as they walk pass, the next door couple was no different, I mean, I would do the same too, it’s not nosey. Just curious if their room is “better than mine” kind of thing.
They started to walk over, just a wee bit smile of friendliness, while holding hands, our doors are further away from each other as the toilet piping probably is in the center.

I went to Janice’s FaceBook and searched, I did find the profile, really is not bad in photos, but the husband… looks like some smoker face that has malnutrition, pock marked face, something like Mark Lee but more skinny. Mark Lee is considered not bad, but her husband.

After regaining composure and getting rid of the cold sweat, Janice finally broke the silence.
J(anice): I’m hungry, let’s go.
Took Janice and we walked from hotel to Central World, then exit towards the BTS underpass and walked on to Paragon. Went for some scones and coffee, peeked outside the windows at the horrendous traffic and crowds.
gog: You feeling alright? It was a bit unexpected … I mean… that…
J: Ya…
Janice was unusually quiet that morning probably still recovering from the shock, yet to loosen up. Walked around a bit, shopped, and slowly she was coming back to herself, busy trying on clothes, looking at all the kids stuff, fragrances, largely window shopping as her luggage is getting full, as well as mine.
It was almost 3pm when finally her stomach growled. She glanced at me with that feeling sick look…
J: Feed….. me.
Wah lao… I’ve become her personal butler of sorts, carrying her shopping and then also need to feed her. I don’t know who is older, her or me.
gog: Come… let’s grab a cab, we go Chinatown, I wanna buy some gifts back for my family.
J: But.. first… feed me.
My turn to roll eyes this time while Janice gave the cheeky smile and hopped behind me as I walked to grab a taxi. Took to Chinatown and went to my regular favourite place for shark’s fin and bird’s nest.
Janice was definitely famished, ordered a lot of dishes, one big pot of shark’s fin and also the rather pricey option for bird’s nest. This is one meal I definitely would pay with my credit card and keep the cash instead.
This was one meal she did not insist we split the food portions fairly. I’m surprised… or either that - she’s smart, eat all the good stuff first.
Finished eating and went further up the street to buy the pork food products, 1 for this, 1 for that, 1 for family, 1 for… Finished shopping and decided to head back early today. She had completely forgotten the morning events and her cousin staying next door to us.
