He want to perform a Public Massacre. It was not the first time Japanese performed Massacre. The most famous one was Sook Ching Massacre.
The Sook Ching Massacre claimed the lives of between 25,000 and 55,000 ethnic Chinese in Singapore as well as in neighboring Malaya. These victims, mainly males between the ages of 18 to 50, were rounded up and taken to deserted spots and remote locations around the island, such as Changi Beach, Punggol Point, and Siglap and killed systematically using machine-guns and rifles
The purpose of this Padang Massacre was to force out the culprits that killed hundreds of Japanese soldiers overnight. The Japanese promised to release those innocent civilians if the culprits turned up themselves.
Ash was sleeping soundly in his grandparent’s kampong house in noon. He was damn tired after the killing spree of Japanese soldiers overnight.
