Jessica and gang questioning me about the incident.. the worse is … Carol was with us at lunch.. and the other new gal too.. whom I assigned to Cyn .. ,Tina, but Tina seem to be those blur blur type.. and one thing I like about her.. is that up till today.. she only minds her own business and never gossip. We need more of her calibre in our working environment..
I am always surrounded by gals in office. I dont know why .. other than Johnny I dont gum with other males … maybe they are scared of me.. because of I punched Ben’s history. This is something I regretted.. I felt guilty.. really.. I actually wanted to apologise to him in private. But till today .. I didnt. By the fourth day.. Carol already knew about that incident.. so u can imagine.. how fast rumours/gossip can spread around.
By the end of fifth day, Carol is getting a hang of what I have been asking her to do.. She is got capability.. when I am not around she automatically clears my paper work for me.. all I need to do Is to come back and sign.. and since then, I began to slowly depend on her… as really my work load is getting more and more heavily.. Grace, my assistant manager handles the Counter for me.. What really headache me is that I have to go around and look at the new guys in the office to see how they are doing. Luckily everyone of them is pleased with my arrangement of working like apprentice. Then when all these are handled, I concentrate on the products for the upcoming travel fair and Natas. FYI, usually Natas are held at March and September. I spend almost 75 % of my time in the product planning side and conference room meeting contractors and my bosses for the advertisement stuff.
A week passed by just like, nothing much really happened.. people are starting to get used to the new faces in our offices.. lesser people are walking pass my table as I told Carol not to wear so sexily .. haha . I ordered her to wear pants all the time amd her perfume to be lighter.. to prevent attention.. she did exactly what I instructed. Actually, I was distracted by her too.. but then I am too busy to fantasize about her during work.. so its ok.
After a week, finally something interesting is about to occur… it was tuesday I remembered. Mr Lau and gang came to the agency. It was around 1130hours..
Mr Lau: Lobert ah … Long time no see… haha
Me: hey ! Nice to see u again my dear friends..
Mr Sim: hey Lobert, we are planning another trip to Shenzhen again… Mitch told to look for Ben, who is he huh?
Mr Ong: yah lor.. why not u handling our things anymore ? You dont like to work for us is it?
Me: bo la… siao meh.. I am preparing for the upcoming Natas.. very busy lo.. so maybe Boss finds another manager to handle for you. His table is directly opposite at the other end.. corner too. Aiya I bring you guys over..
Mr Ong : no need la.. but later we go lim ko pi ok?
Me: kk of course.. and my treat..

All these small talks caught Carol’s attention, after they left.. Carol came over to my table

Me: all those are boss friend.. they are a bunch of funny guys.. but not easy to handle.

Me: yeah .. one day u will learn.. to be able to communicate with all levels, all walks of life.. is essential for people like us. Before you can manage you must learn to communicate. Before people listens to you.. you must listen to them.. aiya.. anyway you will learn it one day when you are working .
Carol : hmm I am working now rite ? No meh? Anyway, I will go and think about what you have said. But when you make small talks with them.. you sounded really relax and funny.. I prefer you in that mentality..

Not sure why. I was actually affected by the comments she made. I was lifted up by those words she said. I felt happy. Maybe when people compliment you.. it does help .. I went to drink Kopi with Lau and gang at around 1500hrs. They werent happy with how Ben handled their trip ..
They felt that if Ben is gonna be in charge.. they would rather go to another agency.. because they dont think Ben is familiar with Shenzhen. Its true… Ben knows a lot about beaches and resorts.. but not China.. its not his pro. Well.. and they hint me to do it for them.. but then .. I was too busy… how?
Back to my desk at around 5 pm, ta pao some snacks for my gals at the counter and my PA .. then started to dive into my piles of work again.. Until 9 plus.. when the air con starts to get really cold because no people are around.. then only I realise its late again ..as usual , i light a cigarette while packing my stuff. ‘‘wei, u smoke here ar… ‘’thats Carol surprisingly.
Me: why are u still around at this hour?
Carol: oh.. I thought you were busy.. and I tried to settle the things I can for you so you dont have to work until so late mah.. but then I didn’t expect you to finish so late.. haha.. when u are focused on something , u know boss dont even dare to intercom you?

I am glad she like it like the way I do …. rarely I can find people accompanying me to eat … and eating alone looks so pathetic.. rite? Especially in a restaurant …That night we took our time to eat and chit chat about anything other than work. This is the first time we had our dinner together. I found her cute.. and quite innocent … and realise that actually her dad is actually a famous chef from China.. working in a 5star Hotel as Executive Chef of Chinese Cuisine kinda and her mum lagi 够力！Translator from China Embassy. … she is the only child . And she told me they are considering to take up Singapore Citizenship.. along the way.. she tends to ask me a lot about my hobbies and why do I want to work in a Travel Agency… and stuff.. to me she is only a 小妹妹。After that night, we went out more and more regularly.
Soon, people start to gossip about me and her.. saying we are very 暧昧。。the rumours are so widely spread even my bosses came and ask me about it.. if its true.. I told them the truth that we are going out occasionally after work .. and told them its because she works with me till late at night.. and I pai se h mah so must treat her la.. but made a very firm stand on our relationship are purely between boss and worker … after work bro and sis kinda.. Mitch believes me. Because he knows I never ever lied to him.
But rumors never died …and soon it starts to affect Carol…
Our relationship came to a turning point … that happened on the pay day which is 28 of the month…
Day by day, we are closer and closer to natas… and before natas.. there would be a pre natas so my dateline of completing are getting nearer and nearer.. my nerves are stretched to the limit… this year is so different from the past years.. Ann wasnt around.. Johnny at the same time busy with wedding and stuff.. I have to take up the full responsibilities … I am glad that my colleagues from other departments did not forsake me and stood by me.. as honestly its the first time I took charge of such a big event. Usually we share the burden among ourselves.. this time round .. they are too busy with personal issues…which cannot be blamed..
I worked until 11 plus that night.. really hungry tired and stuff.. i was the last to leave again i thought… before I was about to go.. I realised the pantry’s light was still on.. so I walk over to off it.
Before I can get close… I heard people talking… it was Carol and Grace… wow .. they are also burning midnite oil like me… I was moved.
Grace: i think we better pack and go.. I dont think Rob’s gonna finish anytime from now..

And then sent them home before I reached home at around 1pm.. shag ar.. one live Bedok another one lives Telok Blangah… I went shower immediately … as I want to catch some sleep asap… before I could shut my eyes… my phone rangs. It was a text msg from Carol…
