pop by on friday nite..we went early to try get a table..but seems ppl are much earlier. it pretty crowded at 9pm.
I personally feel the action start after 3am…that the time william’s set starts…he really the attraction i feel. No offence to the rest of the singers but he does lift the crowd much much better.
btwn: i do notice quite a few scuffle among the crowd….bouncers had a busy nite jumping in and out of the crowd.

I was at St James last nite too. But I reach Movida at about 12 am… went in about 12:20 am and walk around before going out and queue at Dragonfly re-entry queue for about 20 minutes before going in. It’s pretty fast if you can enter from other places instead of queueing directly at Dragonfly first.
Considering that last nite was my first visit to St James and I was alone. But I got a shock when I saw the queue at Dragonfly!!! I asked the bouncers where is the re-entry queue and they’re very friendly. Quite a good impression with the bouncers / door keepers.
The singers were ok except for the old man who sang Cantonese songs. I feel he sings / talks like a ge-tai singer (no class).

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, that’s William. He is an old master in this line and used to sing in Europa during those good old days. OMG, it took me quite a while to recall the name “Europa”. Still remember having fun those days. He has lots of supporters though. Personally, I am very used to his way of singing. Anyway, one man’s meat is another man’s poison.
Back to Dragonfly, you mean next time if the queue is too long, we can actually go to another outlet, exit and re-enter to Dragonfly thru the re-entry queue? Thanks.

Yup, he still possess the charm on stage. Btw, he still looks good at his age (if I am not wrong, he should be in his late 40s). When William was performing, one SYT who was standing beside me, told her friend that she doesn’t mind to sleep with the young male singer (beside William) for FREE! She was really high and kept on screaming when he sings.

Yes, yesterday was my first time to St James PS (SJPS) and I was alone. I knew there’s many places in SJPS but I don’t know which one is more fun / best for me. So when I reached there at 12 am I just queue at Movida which is the main entrance. P/s: I didn’t know different clubs got different entry points one… I’m damn sotong last night.
Actually when I was inside Movida, I wondered out of Movida and thought I can go other places (e.g. Dragonfly) from within SJPS cos I heard Chinese songs and saw pretty dancers from the 2nd floor (and I don’t know that was Dragonfly). I went out of Movida (still inside SJPS) and on the way to another club (still in SJPS), I saw an entry door to Dragonfly too. There was a bouncer at the door and I asked him if I can enter there cos there are other people entering there by greeting him (they’re not staff I’m quite convinced) and they’re no queue. He politely said this is not the entry to Dragonfly, I should go out of the building (via a short-cut inside SJPS) and queue at the re-entry queue.
When I was at the Dragonfly main entrance, I almost fainted…. (wat a fxxking long queue!!!). That was about 12:20 am. Then I asked other bouncers again where is the re-entry queue cos I was shocked at the long queues (2 sides), he politely said it’s on another side and I went to that side and still cannot find the re-entry queue cos seem like a crowd just gathered outside it. I asked a queue member where is the re-entry queue and he politely indicated which is the one.. I almost fainted too cos although it’s the shorter queue but it looks damn long too…!!
Anyway, surprisingly after 10 mins of no movement, our queue suddenly walks very fast (about half of the queue disappeared and I’m at the centre of the original queue length already - 12:30 am). Then 10 mins later (12:40 am) I went inside Dragonfly.
But I think because of the smoking ban, I’ll sign up for the membership cos now as a middle-age man with some spending power, I’ll go for the privileges that for many years I envied those with credit cards / money have. FYI, I’ve not stepped into any night spots for 3 years already.
I like to go see ge-tai / singing entertainment at Dragonfly in a comfortable place after reserving seat as a member in a smoke-free environment on my own time.
