Tutoring session that night was short, Ann did not really help me with my work and we ended early as she said she was tired. Felicia end her session with Jasmine after knowing that mine ended early, as as we walked out to the main road Felicia tucked on my arm.

That night, I could not sleep, I knew Ann could be crying and she might break even before Gloria. I took my cordless phone and dialed Gloria’s pager number, leaving her a voicemail.
My voicemail to Gloria: Sorry, I think I cannot continue being your BF.
It was unexpected, there was no response from Gloria. I waited for another 30mins and there was still nothing from her, could it be she realized I was not suitable for her? Wait long long ah. That night was peaceful as she had gone to bed early, the next morning I virtually woke up in hell.
My pager was beeping non stop, and my voicemail was full by the time I woke up. Yes this marks the return of the psycho Gloria, whom has taken things to another level.
Gloria voicemail 1: Why are you doing this to me, I did everything you said. (Crying)
Gloria voicemail 2: What did I do wrong? Can you tell me please?
Gloria voicemail 3: Call me, I just want to hear your voice.
There were a couple more messages, but the one I remembered most clearly was this.
Gloria voicemail xx: Call me in 30mins, if not I am sure you will regret it, I will kill myself……
Faced with a message like that, there was nothing I could do but page her. But before I could do that, my home phone rang.
Me: Hello?
Gloria crying: You are awake and you don’t reply me…….. Why must you do this to me?
I was left speechless, even if I told Gloria I was about to call her she would just think that I was give another excuse. There is only on thing I can say now: I am sorry.
Gloria: Yang, tell me what have I done wrong?
Me: Nothing, it’s not your fault, it’s mine.
Gloria: what you do wrong? What happened? I can forgive you.
That was really the most WTF moment of my life, why I need her to forgive me? I don’t want!
Me: I don’t deserve you lah, I am not a good person.
Gloria: I know you have your reasons, or else you won’t do this to me. Can you tell me what is it, why you suddenly like that?
At this point, I did not know what to say to her anymore. Gloria was thinking things her way, and thinks she can handle whatever that was coming as long as we are together.
Me: Gloria, we just break up lah can or not.
Gloria: No, You come out now, I want to talk to you face to face.
Me: Gloria, even if we meet it will be the same.
Gloria: Are you meeting me? If not I will just cut myself or jump down. ( win Liao lor, she say like that I can don’t go meet her meh, but actually I know some friends that really bo chap)
Me: Eh don’t do stupid thing can?
Gloria: I am not joking, I gave everything to you, now you say break I have nothing already.
Me: ok I go and meet you, where you want to meet?
Gloria told me to go to Bishan park and wait for her at the bicycle shop beside the fishing pond, I agreed and took my wallet before making my way there.
I arrived at Bishan park, and Gloria was already waiting there. She walked towards me reaching out to hold my hand, I stopped her and that is when she started tearing again.
Gloria: Yang…..
The best part was I have thought of a idiotic cock and bull story to get me out of this fix.
Me: Gloria, let us find a quiet place, and I will explain everything to you.
Gloria nods as we walked deeper into the park where there was a pavilion, we sat down and I began my scripted story telling session.
Me holding onto Gloria’s hand: Gloria, I have to tell you this. I thought I could avoid it but….
Gloria: What thing?
Me: You know actually I have a wife that is betrothed since young?
Gloria: Huh?
Me: You also find it funny right, I also but there was a written agreement.
Gloria: This time still got this kind of thing ah?
I nodded: Somemore the other party Father is a Lawyer. (No need to guess whom my inspiration was)
Gloria: Then?
Me: If I be with you my family will be in trouble, maybe will be sued until bankrupt.
Gloria: but how they know about us?
Me: I wanted to be fair to you, so I asked them to call off the arrangement telling them I found someone I love.
I knew this was hard for Gloria to accept, I mean you only see these in the movies. But what more moves can I throw out now?
Gloria: No wonder, you suddenly like that. Why not I go with you to talk to them? (She really thinking out of the box, but where I find people to let her find)
Me: No lah, you go only will make matters worst.
I placed my palm on my head scratching it, I was really stressed but not about this thing instead I was worried if this will work.
Gloria: Do you like the girl?
Me: Not really, if I like her more than you then I won’t go and ask them to cancel the arrangement.
And smile appeared on Gloria’s face briefly, but soon she was troubled again lowering her head and she was in deep thoughts.
Gloria looked up at me and she finally spoke: Yang, I believe you, but I want to meet the girl.
Me: You want to meet her for what?
Gloria: I just want to talk to her, unless you are lying to me.
Gloria’s request posed a challenge for me, but in order to close this in the most effective and peaceful way. I agreed to let her meet up with “the girl”, the only question now was who?
Jasmine was surely out of contention, and I would not want Felicia. It really gave me a hard time think whom I should ask for help, Ann was clearly upset over this matter and I knew that she would help me if I asked, the main problem was how am I supposed to get Ann out alone without arousing any suspicious from Jasmine.
I thought about all possibilities, but there seem to only be one choice for me.
Feeling helpless, I dialed the number and paged her.
It was Sunday that We arrange to meet with Gloria, we deliberately arrived later and saw Gloria waiting for us. I held her hand walking towards Gloria and briefly introduced her.
Me: Gloria, this is the Girl I am betrothed to, her name is Stephanie.
Stephanie was prim and proper that day, she was dressed in a combination of a shirt and skirt. She lets go of my hand, and walks towards Gloria looking at her from head to toe.
Stephanie: Hi, I am Stephanie.
Gloria: Hi
Stephanie: I heard from Yang that you want to meet me, what is it about?
Gloria speaks softly: I just want to ask if you can leave Yang?
Stephanie: That is coincidental, I was about to say something similar.
I looked on as Stephanie speaks to Gloria in a degrading tone, it would have never occur to me that this lofty behavior of Stephanie would aid me one day.
Gloria: Huh?
Stephanie’s facial expression change and give Gloria a mean look: The difference is I am not asking if you will, I am demanding it.
Gloria: Shouldn’t the three of us talk about it?
Stephanie calls out to me and I walked over joining in their conversation.
Stephanie: He is here so what do you want to talk?
Gloria: Yang.. You tell her.. You like who more?
Me: Gloria, just forget it….
Stephanie: whatever you say now is pointless.
Stephanie turned around and she was ready to pull me away as we planned, Gloria pulls onto Stephanie’s arm and cries. Stephanie roll her eyes and gave me an irritated look.
I went over and pulled Gloria off as I apologised to her, I left with Stephanie and Gloria stood there and a daze. After we walk a distance I looked back to ensure she was not following, and we met up with Ah Kai in the HDB blocks nearby.
Stephanie: Please, next time this kind of thing don’t ask me to do, the girl like so scary.
Me: Sorry lah , but thanks leh.
Stephanie holds onto Ah Kai: Yang why you like that ah?
Me: I like what?
Stephanie: You have Jasmine, Ann, and Felicia, why you still want to flirt around?
Me: It was a rash decision, after this I also scared already. (actually I now must make sure the girl is not a virgin then play)
Stephanie: I really don’t understand you, that time Pris you don’t want, then you get involved with his girl.

Stephanie shook her head and I thanked her again, I just hope this was really over and I left them. I left Ann a voicemail informing her that I had settled the issue, but she did not reply me.
