The next morning it was the same routine for me just that I had another new number to page. I got to the bus stop and met Evon, we had a small chat and I asked her to meet for lunch after school at J8 and she agreed.( yes it was part of my plan to use Evon to spite the girls) She told me she would page me when she reached, And I just told her that I would introduced my friends to her.
I went to school after that as my bus came and I will just skip the rest to the point that I was in my classroom.
I did not see Ah Kai at the morning assembly, but he came in late. Ah Kao was lifeless that day and I could see him laying on the table for most of the classes. But during recess it was a different picture as we sat at the bench of the canteen.
Ah Kai: kwah… Kwah Lan Jiao!!! ( see what see)
Yes, he was asking whomever that walk pass us this question, deliberately looking for trouble.
Ah Keong came and asked him to stop his nonsense, and I felt Ah Kai was no happy about it. As he got up spat on the floor and walked off.

Ah Keong got up and he walked off, I knew he was looking for Ah Kai and I followed him
I ran after Keong, and soon saw him grabbing Kai on his collar.

I wanted to go pull them apart, but Keong shouted at me warning me not to get involved as this was their gang’s business.

Ah Kai pulled Ah Keong’s hand off: I dun want to follow you, I go Zai dui (home base) find Orh Pah.
Ah Kai walked off and i tried holding him back, he too flung my hand off him. That was the first time I saw Ah Kai in such a rage, perhaps Evelyn was really very important to him.

I asked Keong to go and I returned to my class, the more I thought about things the more I felt Ah Kai was reckless does he even know who the guy was?
I ended class and paged the girls to meet outside the food court. They arrived after me and they went on to order as usual, they came back and I teased Jasmine.
Me: Eh Jasmine today never order wrong ah?
Jasmine: No!
I remained at my seat and did not go to order my food.
Ann: Lawrence, you not eating?
I just smiled at Ann and my pager beep.
Me: my Friend is here.
The girls looked at me and I Guess they were puzzled.
I went out of the foodcourt and found Evon before bring her to the table.
Me: girls this is Evon
The girls stopped their eating, as they look up at Evon.
I point towards the girls and I introduced them: This is Felicia, and this is Jasmine and that is Ann, oh Jasmine and Ann might become my God Sister. (Since their Father offer I thought why not improvise)
Evon waving to the girls: Hi
I could see Ann looking at me and Felicia was really checking Evon out looking from top to bottom. Jasmine stared at me after the statement that I made about the god sisters and I told the girls that I will go order my food with Evon.
While walking at around the food court I walked closely beside Evon chatting with her.
Evon: Lawrence, any of those girl is your gf?
Me: Nope.
Evon: so they are?
Me: Oh they are my study mates, Ann tutors me and jasmine tutors Felicia.
Evon smiled and we ordered our food. ( I deliberately ate the same thing with Evon)
We returned to the table and the girls were hostile, they did not really talk to Evon. I was the only person talking to Evon with 3 pairs of eye looking at me.
After lunch, Evon said she need to go. I believe she sense that the girls did not really like her. She wave goodbye to all of us and I Guess u was the only one responding.
After Evon walked off, Jasmine glared at me: I think we need to talk again.
Jasmine walks in front as Felicia walked beside me shaking her head, Ann looked disappointed for once there was no smile on her face.
Me: Go where?
Jasmine: Your home!

Jasmine just nods her head,
Jasmine: Anyway I need to talk to you in private.
Felicia: about what?
Jasmine: About my Father asking him to be his God Son.
Felicia: How come I don’t know?
Ann explained the details to Felicia, while Jasmine asked me if we could talk in the room.
I nodded as she followed me in closing the door behind her.
Me: why need to close door?

“Tock” That was the sound made by my room’s door when it was locked, and yes, Jasmine has locked the door.
Jasmine sat on the bed as I was still puzzled on why see required to close the door and lock it.

I walked over and sat beside her.

Actually I knew that too, but I decided to tease her a little.

The girls agreed, we were thinking of a good reason for me to declined Jasmine and Ann’s Father’s offer. My pager beeped.
The girls looked at me, and I could feel that they must have thought is was Evon.
However it was a unfamiliar number with a 99 keyed behind it. Which meant it was urgent in our days.
The girls followed me as I returned the call after taking the cordless phone, they were all quiet listening to whom was paging me.
It turns out to be Ah Kai and he wants to meet up with me.
I told the girls wat happened, and I really needed to meet Ah Kai as I did not know what he plans to do, and as a buddy I can’t help but worry.
Jasmine was not at all sympathetic about Kai: Huh that plaster face also can two time?
Felicia: heehee, the guy must be blind.
I did not really care about their comments, and told them I needed to go.
We walked to the station together, as I was going to AMK to meet Ah Kai. Felicia wanted to take the train with me instead of the bus she normally took.
Felicia: Idiot, need me to follow you or not?
Me: Mai lah (don’t lah)
Felicia pouts: Why leh?
Me: My buddy got 2 timed, I bring girl go not nice right.
Felicia: Orh…..
We Parted ways and I took the train to AMK alone, reaching the station I saw Ah Kai waiting for me.
I walk towards him: Eh Kai
Kai: Yang, in the end you most steady, let’s go
Me: huh? Go where?
Kai: Evelyn home, if you Brother came with me.
I did not know what Ah Kai wanted to do but I still followed him up a bus and reach a housing estate in AMK. (Blk 100 Plus I remember) and we sat at the void deck of Evelyn’s home.
Me: Eh what we doing here.
Kai: We wait…
That was the time I knew Kai was waiting for Evelyn and there will be a confrontation .
