i hope this thread can be sticky post for many bros may benefit from it.
first of all this thread takes it focus at ppl having a foreign girlfriend(be it thai,china,indo,WL or non WL) who are coming to Singapore for a short holiday, some guideline of increasing your girlfriend getting a max stay(14days) from the immigrant custom officers at airport .and if your girlfriend is from ‘HI_SO’(high society,no problem with English and financially strong) then you can skip this.and also if your girlfriend come with their parents then I don’t think there will be any problems at the airport custom.
No 100% guarantee that after you tried all the guidelines/suggestions that your girlfriend will be granted a max stay here .so pls don’t flame me.
These guidelines are base on the discussion between my friend whose wife is a ICA officer and use to station at airport .also discussion with my Thailand girlfriend and some thai WL. Discussions are in a Q & A format. If you have any questions ,I try my best to answer.
Q1 : my girlfriend coming to sg for holiday for the ‘first time’,how long will she be allow to stay?
Ans: Normally, she will be granted to a 14 days social visit pass without any difficulties.Unless she use a fake passport,or had been illegally enter to sg and caught. Pls note, firstime in sg means never been step into sg before.
Q2 : What if my girlfriend came more than once?
Ans: From 2nd visit onwards to sg, the ICA officers will randomly ask questions at the immigrant counter base on the nationality of the girl. From there, the given of numbers of days to stay in sg will depend on a few factors (will discuss this in later part)whether the officers are satisfied with the answer the girl produced.
Q4 : What types of questions will the ICA officers ask?
Ans: The most asked questions are ; what are you here for? ;
Do you have a return ticket? ;
Where are you staying ? ;
How much you have?
Q4 : How should the girlfriend answer to all this questions?
Ans: answer short and sharp,politely and don’t show temper to the officers.He/she may delay the girl clearing the custom. Just tell the officer she on a holiday,make sure she had a return ticket,show the address or better still,verbally tell the officer. Money, very important .as to how much must she have in her wallet, preferably 1 thousand sin dollars.But the best is the girl have a ‘credit card’ to show,it will increase her chances. This is so because ‘vice syndicate’ had land moneys to WL to show them to the ICA officers in order to pass that phrase.so ICA already know this tricks.
However slow the girl may answer the officer’s questions,it ok but please don’t remind silent. If she does not understand the officer ‘s question.ask he/she to repeat the questions.MY girlfriend was complaining to me saying what kind of English we singaporen speaking,she can’t understand our accent(she use to angmo slang).because my girlfriend had difficulties communicating with the officer(another officer came later to understand the situation)she was hold for 45 mins at the custom counter,in the end she was only allow 7 days social visit pass.
Q5 : What if my girlfriend produce a letter by me clarifying her stay in sg?will it help?
Ans: personally I tried that and well to be honest , the officers don’t bother or interest to read the letter.the officer only interested in whether the girl fulfill the questions they ask and document proof the girl produce.
Q6 : Head that some experience ‘WL’ told me that when queuing at the custom counter,try to queue to the counter which the office are male(excluding Chinese male).she told me female office are more strict.Is it true.
Ans : well so far no concrete proof show that it easy to pass the male officers but a lot of the WL tried that at the counter. But please avoid queue with all those ‘all girls group’ queuing.once the first girl got some problem the girls behind will more or less be difficult to pass. A thai WL told me, she was bring to had her finger/thumb print with a whole group of female from asia. My friend told me lately ICA start randomly pick up visitors to test out the ‘BIOMETIRC’ where by visit will record their thumb/finger and iris scan.IN this case the ICA chooses the asian girls who came in ‘all girls group’ or alone. My friend suggest that choose queues that come with families(best is with the presence of children and old folks and also they are from the same country with the girl).the officers will thought you are with them.
Q7: What if I come with my girlfriend?
Ans: well from the observation of the ICA officers , they may treat you as ‘syndicate’ trying to bring in the girl .but off course the girl stand a better chance than those came alone or in ‘all girls group’ Unless you had a male friend same nationality with your girlfriend accompany her. A true story told by my girlfriend, an angmo expat working in Singapore, legally married a thai wife and was coming back to Singapore, the angmo’s wife was refused enter to Singapore.even producing valid document,marriage cert the ICA officers still barred the wife from entering to Singapore.the angmo later was throw into the monkeyhouse for using violence against the officers.
Q8: What if my girlfriend was given only 7 days or less than,can I extend for her at ICA?
Ans : From my experience, unless your girlfriend had valid reason like marriage ,study in sg, working , seeking medical treatment ,etc with supporting documents,I say you can save your time. Reason like ‘holiday’ for the extensions of stay will not be entertained .by the way, two question will be ask.
What is the reason for extension of stay ? valid reasons
What are your relationship with the girl ? (don’t say girlfriend, say fiancées instead.and please make sure both of you wearing rings )
Q9: What if my girlfriend leave on the last day of her stay and goes north to Malaysia to stay 1 night to return to Singapore ,will she success in staying longer ?
Ans : basically the ICA already know this loophole , so they will judge the day the girl leave Singapore.if she leave on the last and return the next following day,she may be refused enter to Singapore. Thai ‘FL’ told me they will at least wait for another month before returing to Singapore.
Next discussion on some of the factors on what the ICA officers base on when deciding to give a 14 days social visit pass. Factors like the girl’s ‘appearance , language power , high seasons ,etc.

Appearance observation play an important role in the work of the immigrant officers.they will observe the way the girl dressing, the accessories they wear. Please avoid jeans ,miniskirt or sexy outfit which the ‘WL’ like to dress themselves in this way.i have seen 40 over thai girls being deport from airport all wearing those outfir as mention above.
Q : SO how do the girl wear or what to wear that won’t make the ICA officer think they are ‘WL’ ?
Ans: wear more like business outfit, office lady kind of clothes. Coat with skirt or suit long pant . accessories also can help to add point ,like ring ,earring. To make them look more hi-class.
Language power also another observation the immigrant officer uses.they will ask questions and expect the girl to answer all of them , if the girl remain silent or cannot speak English , then she will delay longer in clearing the custom. No matter what ,please have her answer all the question been ask . if she can’t understand the singlish ask the officer to repeat . the questions are not really that diffcult to answer at all.(refer to Q4 )
High season, refer to the period whereby a lot of girls coming to Singapore to work as ‘FL’ and were caught
Overstaying of girls and complains from resident regarding foreign girls working illegally.once you read in the newspaper regarding ICA doing islandwide raid on illegal immigrants or caught human trafficking or threaten by terrorist , etc . the following weeks or month will consider a high season whereby , custom will be tighten , officers will be more on alert .

Nice and rich info, pal. But you pen this sentence in bold too openly liao. ICA staff not suppose to discuss this openly, even their immigration laws & regulations are also lip-tight. Just my POV.

For the time being, knowing that Dec - Early Feb 06 is the festive season, ICA may speed up and double up their processing time in this application. For first timer, should not be a problem. As your ger is from thais, she is not categorized under Level I or II countries whose nationals require entry visas to visit Singapore. So basically if she’s not holding any fake passport, no criminal/immigration records in her first visit, should not be a problem to re-enter. But your above factors still applies, like several common Qs being asked.
Girlfriends of passport holders under Myanmar, People’s Republic of China (PRC), Holders of Hong Kong Document of Identity & Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) etc. Please see

ICA rules and regulations keep changing all the time.things that work now may not work in future. just like some time ago some one post all the T.P hotspot location to warn motorist against speeding.
actually informations here are not so secret afterall. because i did not provide when is their ‘highseason’ period or what adjustment had the ICA made to lady visitor. neither will my friend tell me all these.

Bro, I would like to comment pertaining to your Q. As a genuine tourist or whatsoever. Wear as casual as she can. Unless you are talking about business visa here. As long if the ger is single, ICA officers will be on their toes, and start asking general Qs.
On the other note, ICA welcome foreign visitors with open arms, and they dun restrict them from coming back, unless those hardcores one who keep flouting immigrations rules. If there are able to let in such a big volume of visitors in here, rest assure they won’t be able to contain those offenders.

ICA offices pay more attention on girls from china,vietnam,thailand ,indo. for obvios reason. they have already start using the biometric to record fingers print and iris scan from randomly picking up male and female visitor.this record is share worldwide.as it have not fully implement the biometric passport they just pick those that they think look like ‘FL’ to be them and use it as a trial test.so if your girlfriend really been choosen, no need to worry too much unless she did some thing here in the pass. the male will be choosen at woodland custom or taus end. why they choose only those people?because 2 reason : if really the girl is coming to work as ‘FL’ ,it will act as a warning to scare them, 2nd reason . they don’t really dare to voice out or complain .if you try out against some caucasian, they may write to the newspaper forum.
one thing about the newspaper forum, some can be very powerful tools for you to question or complain if you feel your girlfriend have been unfairly treat at the airport. but don’t make any blaming or insult on the officer,just ask what is their procedure? the PR department or head of depart will look into the matter.

Talking about baby bonus, if your baby is delivered in any of the local hospital, you are entite the 1st baby bonus of $3000. Because you are the singapore citizen, dou you have a foreign wife. You can apply for the baby bonus when your child’s birth certificate is issued at the hospital itself. Now it takes 21 days to process your claim.
Rules applies:
A child is eligible if he or she is:
a. born on or after 1 August 20041;
b. a Singapore Citizen or becomes a Singapore Citizen;
c. the first to the fourth child born alive to the mother
d. the mother is lawfully married to the child’s father.

as a matter of fact you can wear short and slipper like some backpackers .also no problems but appearance do score point . plus you don’t queue together with groups of girls coming from same countries.if the first girl got any problem the whole group including your friend who happen to just queue together will have their time delay.
most important 2 things are return ticket and money or credit card. the rest of is just to increase your chances.
