If thats the case, the thread starter should have said: “catch a train back together or something” …
I believe the thread starter is a working adult, and to working adults “to send someone back” mean drive that person back, or take a cab and send that person back or something…
Unless one is a teenagers, “to send someone back” could mean via public transport.
