I woke up in time for dinner , took a look at my phone and saw a few missed call from miss YOKO.
I didn’t return call but straight ahead for my meal.
After my meal , I went out to katong park for a stroll. Walked for two rounds around the park. I was nearly reaching the gate of Helen house when I noticed a bike on the footwAy . The bike was not there when I left the house. I slowed down my pace as I passed the bike. The heat from the engine block could be felt as I paused to look at the motorbike mirror , pretending to be a vain pot , adjusting my hair .
I carry on my way to the house and went upstairs immediately . Enter into one of the room that faces the gate. I did not switch on the lights. Hiding behind the curtains with my gaze fix on the surrounding. It was abt 20 mins later I saw a figure emerging out of the darkness. He hid well and blend well with the surrounding. It is pretty clear that this guy might be a PI send to spy on me.
The man let the bike down from the main stand and push his bike slowly towards the main road. Once out of sight , I could hear a muffle sound of the bike engine starting and it was silence after that .
I went back to my round . The phone back ground light buzz , indicating that I missed some calls again.
Pick the HP up and saw ….. It was miss YOKO trying to reach me again !

I rode my bike to the Harley Davidson showroom off Alexandra Road. Off the ignition of my bike and head straight in to the show room. The sale person gave me a weird look. Maybe they thg i was a despatch rider delivering some document.
Me “ I am keen to get this bike, pointing to the smallest bike on display HD Roadster 883. “
This immediately got his attention.
Sale Guy “Sir this is not the latest model…”
Me “ I don’t need the latest , this would do just fine !”
The sales guy started smiling.
Sales G “sir this is our last unit for clearance. We are giving out one year free insurance and road tax.”
Me “ i will be paying cash , give me a better deal my friend”
He started to punch the calculator he had in his hand.
Sales G “ Best price for you !”
He turns the screen towards me and shows me the figure.
Me “ok deal, i will pay the deposit now, plus i want to rent a similar model for the next few days”
Sales G “sure this way for the paper work pls”
The thrill of riding one of this HD machine is a dream long ago. Got a few stares as I pass by bus stops and at the red light junction.
I almost forgot to fill up the tank. i tap on the bike signal indicator and filter into Esso Kisok off Jehervios Rd. Help myself to the pump.
A loud exhaust sound fill the petrol station as I saw a heavy modified MX5 open top parked just behind me at the next pump. A lady came out and told the pump attendant to fill it up. Our eyes met. She started the conversation
Stranger Lady “Nice bike”
Me “thank you, heavy mod exhaust u have there”
She smiled and head in to the payment counter. I timed myself well, knowing that the fill of petrol into her car tank will take some time. Walked in slowly, observing that she is browsing the shelves. I pretend to walk around too. Slowly i head towards the counter with cash payment in my hand.
She came direct behind me and Q.
I turned back.
Me “ ladies first”
“Thank you” … as she step up and took my place.
She signed her credit card, took her stuff and makes a quick turn.
I had already positioned myself at her blind spot.
She bums into me and drop her stuff.
Lady : “ i am so sorry.,,,”
Me “ is my fault”….. bending down to help her stuff.
Taking a look at her name on the credit card.
Me “ there u go Suzie, i am so sorry again”
Suzie “thank you ….” she paused.
Me “ Charles !”
“See you Chares” …she stood up and exited the store.
I place the cash on the counter and told the cashier
Me “ pump 4 , 30 dollars”
Dashing out of the store and strap on my helmet.
Suzie car roar into action and off she went. I started the bike and gave chase. Knowing River valley road very well, i sped on and caught up with her side by side. Suzie turns her head and smiled before stepping on her gas pedal.I follow the chase and stay closed with her.
We both stop at the next red light.
Me “ coffee ?”
Suize “ next time ? Number ?” ….she stretches her hand out.
I scramble to get an old name card from my wallet and managed to put it into her hand.
Suzie sped off as soon as the lights turn green. I kept my distance and make a right turn at the next junction.
The next day morning i got Helen Family driver to drop me off at the law firm.
Me “Thank you very much, there is no need to wait for me. I will get back myself later”
The elderly driver just nodded his head and went off.
I step into the law firm office and the same receptionist greeted me
“Good Morning, room 2 please” …. she said.
I head towards room two.
The door open and the same elderly lawyer came towards me.
Lawyer “thank you for making time to come down”
Me “so what is it this time?”
Lawyer “you are on Ms V list on the will, we have to execute it”
Me “ohh ?”
Lawyer “the only condition stated here… you must not tell anybody from the company Ms V used to work.”
My simple mind started to work, but i couldn’t figure out a thing.
Me “ is there anything illegal we are talking here”
Lawyer: no …no. U are mistaken. It seems that Ms V sold away her company shares just before she went for her surgery and she has will the amount of money to your name”
The lawyer went on to tell me the amount I was receiving.
It wasn’t in the millions.
Good enough to purchase a 4 room HDB or even maybe the down payment for a condo.
Lawyer “ U need not answer me, just something for you to think about. Has anyone from the company been contacting you?”
Me “Yes”
The lawyer smiled.
Lawyer “just be careful alright?”
He pushed the document for me to sign.
Lawyer “ that will be all, the money will be transfer to your bank account in three days time.”
I stood up, shook his hand and left the office.
I was about to exit the main building when i saw Ms Yoko together with Amy at the lobby.
The next day morning i got Helen Family driver to drop me off at the law firm.
Me “Thank you very much, there is no need to wait for me. I will get back myself later”

Mr Z , the driver took us to a URA carpark at Palmer road.
Yoko “ pls excused us. Mr Charles and I have something to discuss”
Both Amy and the driver step out of the car.
Yoko “ so have u make up your mind to come work for me?”
Me “ i don’t think this is what you intend to talk about right?”
Yoko “ ok i will stop beating round the bush.. what did Ms V will state ? Did she left anything for you”
Me “ i am sorry i can’t tell you anything.”

I look out the window and saw the SBS bus coming out from the bus terminal.
Me “ i am sorry i can’t tell you anything… i will take my leave”
I open the car door and make a dash across the road. Both Amy and the driver were stunted. I was just in time. Hop onto the bus and tapped my translink card.
The passengers on the bus were giving me curious stare as I calm myself down catching my breath.
I alighted at Raffles Place. The crowd just zoom passed me as people are heading places. Not used to the crowd here. Found a small eatery at Clifford Centre, stop by to have coffee and toast.
A tap on my shoulder, follow by a greeting.
“bro what u doing here ?” …. a man voice called out.
Me “ Hey Suresh (page 20, #297) what u doing here ? “
Suresh “ bro i waving at you from just now, you gave me the blank stare?”

Suresh “ i need to deliver this. I see u shortly abt 15 mins?”
Me “ ok i wait for u here”
He came down within 10 minutes.
Me “hey btw how are the shares doing?”
Suresh turn his head left and right to look at the surrounding.
S : “ lets talk in the car ?”
I got his hint.
Suresh drove off and we head back to Marina South old car park.
S “bro are you the only one not knowing what is going on?”

S “the company is being investigated!”

i took the MRT and alighted at Commonwealth Station. Saw a few estate agents give out flyers at the exit of the station.
Agent : “ Sir new launch take a look pls.”
Took a copy and went on walking while looking at the flyer.
A though suddenly strike me. I took out my HP and called Jane.
Me : “ hey i need some help i got a lobang for you. Got a old apartment for sale at River Valley. U keen to take up a not”
Jane “whoa, of course lah, River Valley leh”
After giving her more information, Jane informed that she will place an advertisement tomorrow.
After half an hour Jane called me back.
Jane “Hey u idiot ! playing prank on me is it ?”
Me “ what u talking about?”
Jane “ this place u talk about is due for enbloc lah”
Me “ So? “
Jane “ So ?? so who in the right frame of mind will sell ?”
Me “ I will want to let go, any reasonable offer i will accept”
Jane “ you?’
Me : “ call me when u got buyer keen to view’
I cut her off and started warming up for my motorcycle.
