Office Experience

    Chapter #41

So I went off to my first overseas business trip filling with excitement and not knowing what to expect. This was China slightly more than 10 years ago whereby you still require visa to enter the country.

It was really a very exciting and nervous trip since I went there alone. Thinking that it will be strictly a business trip, I did not do any research in SBF for places to chiong…mmmm…wondering if such information was available then…

Anyway, China is a country whereby there are more females than the entire population of Singapore and with such high number of females, my eyes was treated to feast of eye candies on a daily basis. There were a few things that I learnt during my trip to China.

    1. Do not finish the food on your plate when you are bring invited to meal. The food will continue to pile up on your plate until you have some leftover. I learnt this painful lesson when I tried to finish everything on my plate and my host kept ordering more dishes.

    2. Still on food, most cafe only has only 1 type of serving, and their serving is enough to feed 4 people. I learnt this when I was having dinner alone in a cafe when I order a meat, a vegetable and a soup. So imagine the amount of food on my table.

    3. The concept of distance differ from a big country in comparison to a small country. I asked the concierge if Tiananmen was within walking distance, he said yes, it is very near, just down the road. It took me 45 mins to reach it..lol

    4. There will be people around who would try to con you and most of the time these are SYT who will tell you a sob story about how they lost their money and have no where to stay. Could you give them some money or can they stay in your hotel? I nearly agreed to house one of them but common sense prevail. Surprising all of them said they are from Harbin.

So yes I learnt alot during my first trip in Beijing

    Chapter #42

Anyway I took my boss advice and signed on day tour to visit the Great Wall, Ming tomb, Jade factory etc.

It was during the tour that I met Elis. She is Chinese who was born in London and is working in Madrid and is in China also on business trip. She had a very nice figure and has a very sporty look. She is in her late 30s with quite a tanned complexion. We started talking on the way to the Great Wall and became companion during the whole tour.

As she was staying in the same hotel, we arranged to have dinner together. As I told her about my experience with food the past few days, we decided to visit a street whereby there are food carts like pasar malam and we can buy various food from the stall.

Decided not to bore bros with what we ate but I ate some deep fried insects on a dare..yucks..

Anyway, we decided to go back to my room for some Chinese tea..yes you heard it right..chinese tea which she bought a few days ago.

    Chapter #43

    Decided to end this thread.

Nothing actually happened between the girl and me. We just sat very close to each other and drinking tea. With that I decided to close the final chapter on this thread.

Thank you brother for reading it.
