Wah LIU so much speculations, I promise to update tomorrow. May is fine. The cast went off after 4 months and she is still as lovely as the first day we met. Maybe I do a short one to clear everyone’s doubt.
As I was warned not to return, I returned to my room ans wait for further instruction. I remember sitting on the chair in the room, dun even remembering what went tru but having flashed of those precious time I spend together with May.
I must have say there up to an hour. Finally the phone rang, Jasmine announced that May has just finished consulting the doctor, everything is fine. But she still needs to be warded for suspected head injury incase she develops nausea and vomiting in the next 24 hours. She is bring wheeled to the obs room now.
However, I am still uncertain of May’s condition till I speak to her myself. I managed to speak to May again but only for a very short period as phone call is not really allowed in there. May reassure me she is fine, she will be allow to go Home tomorrow if the doctor, during the morning ward round, pronounce she is fit to be discharged. She promised to call me once she is discharged.
Much as I reluctant to hang up, May need her rest after the ordeal and the wars sister keeps bugging her to hang up.
I remember not feeling hungry and ended up force some sandwich, bought from the convenient store, down my stomach and washing it down with some Jap tea.
I lay on the bed, eyes wide open, I fallen asleep but waking up again to go tru the sleep and wake up routine. The next Morning came slow, first light came about 0445, Singapore time (but it was 0545 in Japan timing). I keep glancing my watch. Ward round should be over by 0930, Singapore time, but the time seems to be frozen.
Soon I need to get ready for pick up from my Jap counter parts. The watch registered 0805, Tokyo timing (0700 back at home)

I was in the Japanese counterpart office before 0900.
We walk about 15 mins to the subway, took a 10 mins train, and another 15 mins walk to their office. Goodness!!
Was sweating so very badly after all the walk … some more I was in a very formal business suit.
Their air-con is tune to 26 degrees, to conserve energy.
We finally settle down and soon we were deep in discussion. Although physically I am in Japan, mentally I have drifted back to Singapore. I have to keep referring to my notes as I have loss my concentration and forgot lots of facts.
Finally about 1100, my mobile rang. It was an unfamiliar number. I excused myself to pick up my call. It was some insurance or bank guy trying to sell their products. I was kind of rude turning them down.
Back to the table, and before long, the phone rang again. it was my office, boss calling asking me to amend some details.
I was tempted to call back and ask about May’s condition, but since her mobile phone is not with her. It was difficult to reach her.
Finally when we were about to break for lunch, my mobile rang again. This time it was the call I have been waiting for since the whole morning. May calling from her aunt mobile, in the Taxi.
She has been discharge after the doctor gave her another round of examination. She told me she is going home and will call again when she is back home.
I was so relieved to hear that. My spirit was high again. I push on with our request through out lunch. However, we did not manage to reach any agreement, as the Japanese counterpart need to consult their higher authority on our request.
They request to take me out for dinner, but I decline politely. Firstly, my heart wasn’t in it. Secondly, I dun want to get drunk. Thirdly, I was too darn tired.
May did call me upon reaching home. she asked me to call her fix line when I am off work.
So, the first thing I did upon reaching the room was to dial and listen to her voice. But her aunt came to the phone saying that May was sleeping. I asked about her condition and was told that May is fine.
I told the Aunt that I will call later.
I also called back to Singapore to report on the work progress.
Shortly after that I drifted asleep.

Err sis, the serial is being shot while u watching it. So sometimes they are re-runs.
I woke up from noise outside my room. There were some very people walking down the hall.
I had a glance outside the window, it is already dark. I retrieve my mobile from the night stand. No miss call. A quick glance on the time, it is about 2000 (1900 in Singapore). Just I was staring blankly at my phone. A call came in. It was May, calling from her aunt’s house.
I quickly press answer.
May: Hello
Me: Hi Honey, I miss you.
May: I miss you too, where are you?
Me: In my hotel room.
May: Haven’t you gone for dinner yet? It is eight over there?
Me: its ok, I am not hungry, I will go grab something to eat. What about you, how are you feeling?
May: I am ok, the legs is kind of sore, the doctor gave me some medicine that makes me sleepy. HE says he wish to keep me i bed for at least the next 4 to 5 days. I just woke up, my aunt told me you call earlier.
Me: How’s you head.
May: As I have told them, when I fell, it was a very light bump. But the doctors are over careful, they insist that we must be careful.
Me: what happen? How you fell down.
May: It was so stupid. after school, when I was walking down the stairs, somehow I miss a step and fell down. Luckily it was the last second step. I fell forward, my knee must have knock against the concrete, causing a hairline crack.
Me: so poor thing, I am sorry I cannot be by your side to look after you.
May: You are overseas how can me by my side.
Me: Is that I fell so useless, you are my wife and I cant even be there the first minute.
May:Than you shall compensate me.
Me: Yes I will, what I can do.
May: Buy me some Japanese candies.
Me: That’s no problem. I will try to return in 2 days time.
May: that’s nice, but get your work done first.
Me: I will try to wrap up by tomorrow.
We talk for another 10~15 minutes before her aunt got her to go for dinner. She asked me to log in to MSN after dinner. I went to the convenient stall in the hotel lobby, and bought some cup noodle. Not really hungry from the lunch in the afternoon. The weather was getting nasty, I remember there was some typhoon warning that night.
After a quick dinner, I set up my laptop and retrieve mail. I log in to MSN. May wasn’t on line yet. So I went for a quick shower. By than, can feel the wind against the windows, soon followed by heavy rain. It was my first Typhoon.
We finally got connected on MSN.
She looks as loverly as usual, except a little tired. But seeing her on MSN video conferencing gave me 100% assurance about her well being. She show me her cast. It wrap around her lower leg including the ankle. Her cute toe was exposed , so she cab scratch them
We chatted almost for 3 hours, before her aunt came chasing her to bed. We kissed goodnight digitally. I have a very good sleep regardless of the heavy rain fall and gusting wind.
The Typhoon cleared up by early morning. The streets were a messed. But everyone seems to be easy, guess that they are used to it.
Forgot to mention that May broke her phone when she fell. Jasmine will passed her a spare phone to use later today. As I have no idea if she is awake, so I did not call.
As for work, we finally meet at some mid point. I was free to wonder about after lunch. I went to a nearby Shopping centre, beside the candies, I popped by Mikomoto and bought some gifts for the ladies of my life.

White Peral Necklace x3 for May’s Aunt, her nosey Cousin and Jasmine (all different design)
The gift for May’s Aunt and Cousin is to “bribe” them, so that they don’t give me trouble in the future.
I happily return to the hotel and arrange for a red-eye flight back to Singapore without letting May know.
Finally, May was reachable after Jasmine passing her the spare phone. We communicated by SMS. Nothing really worth penning down through out the day. Just before boarding the plane, I told May I am turning in as I have a very early flight tomorrow morning …. hehehehehehehhee
When I reached Singapore (my boss don’t know I return in the morning, so I have the day off), I went home took a shower. Presented my mommy with the Mikimoto necklace and off I went to May’s Aunt house.
May was shocked to see me, but also very pleased with the surprise. We hug and kiss. When I presented May with the candies and the Ear Ring, she grumble that I should not have wasted money, but can see that she is very happy. I passed the rest of the gift to her, asking her to present to her Mom, Aunt, Jasmine and cousin. She say it is ok for her to pass it to her Aunt and Cousin, but request I present the gift to her Mother myself (help me score points)
Her Aunt was pleased with the gesture. Her cousin thank me when she return from the night shift, but she was like complaining that May’s look nicer (off course!! it is almost more than double in price). May’s Aunt came and chase her away, leaving us to ourself.
Just before the Aunt reminded me to get May to eat medicine.
