What other interesting things did you come across in your career? Be it in OT or not.

Pretty true.
How do you guys transfer a patient from the surgical table to recovery? What’s the process like?

She can still answer simple questions like what’s her name, age, etc… but getting very sleepy liao. Put a sliding board on the table with 4 persons 2 at her shoulders 2 at her feet. Pull her by the white sheet underneath her back on the sliding board to slide her over to the table. Then turn her body to the right side and the left side to remove the sliding board together with the white sheet. She should be totally naked and visible to all by now. All the females nurses know what the guys want lah, even the surgeon is a man mah hehe.
That makes sense, so the transfer is started by the white sheet under patient’s back. There’s something I don’t understand when you said patient will be totally naked after removing sliding board and white sheet.
Isn’t the patient still awake now? How is it possible to expose a naked patient while she’s still awake? Even if that’s allowed, shouldn’t she be draped quickly?

Between white sheet and green drape you can see everything liao lor!
Right, so it was pretty quick right? The green drape you talking about is the OT drape? I had the impression that is done after patient is knocked out completely.
Anyway, it must be traumatizing for people going for a surgery. Then how do you see the patient naked again after surgery? Isn’t the patient already fully covered after surgery?
Sorry man, I’m not a pro in this, you got to help me understand.

The Op is over so no hurry mah take your own sweet time to transfer back to the trolley waiting outside. The white sheet is put back to cover the naked body to prevent freezing mah! The aircon in OT is full blast to 16ºC one mah! You can slowly enjoy your view and smell and touch lah! Except there will be a bandaged wound dressing mah!
16ºC and naked? OMG, it must be freezing cold even with a white sheet. I know how that feels when I hit the streets during winter.
So the green drape is removed on the OT and a white sheet is replaced in its place. Patient is then transferred to trolley outside, is that right?
In that case, how do you enjoy the view when everything is covered up quickly? Is there no governance to prevent touching the patient?
